Help-Portrait Session – Giving Back
Hamilton Portrait and Wedding Photographer | Oz Photography
Starting in 2008 a photographers group out of the U.S. started a world wide phenomenon of taking portrait photographs of people who would not normally be able to afford them during the Christmas season. Mark runs a photography group called the Dundas Photography Initiative out of the Dundas Museum in Dundas, Ontario and this agenda item was up for discussion. We all agreed it was a great way to give back to people and families of the area all for free .
With the help of donations and services from various individuals and businesses we were able to provide make-up and hair styling, take the shots and provide them with free prints. We also had Christmas music, cider and cookies for all. This photo shoot also gave members experience with posing, lighting equipment etc.
The photos were sent out for printing and then delivered to all. It was a great event and we are looking forward to Dec 2017!
